Standard consultations are for 50 minutes.
*The Australian Psychological Society recommended fee for 50-minute psychological consultations is currently $235.
Consultations at Aruna Psychology with a Clinical Psychologist are $195.Consultations with a General Psychologist are $175 .
Eye Movement Desensitisation Response (EMDR) Treatment sessions, vary in fees based on the needs of the client.

Medicare Rebate

Most psychological services are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $124.50 per session for a Clinical Psychologist and $84.50 for a General Psychologist under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Scheme. This rebate applies to services that have been referred for by your GP, where there is a Mental Health Care Plan in place.

When referred under the Better Access to Mental Health Care scheme, Medicare eligible services are limited to 10 individual sessions per client, per calendar year, with a review by the referring practitioner required after the initial 6 sessions.

Paediatricians and Psychiatrists can refer to psychologists for Medicare eligible services. A Mental Health Care Plan is not required; however, you do require a referral letter.

There is a Medicare rebate of $84.80 per session for the assessment of children with autism or any other pervasive developmental disorder.
The same rebate applies for treatment sessions.

Private Health Insurance

Most private health insurers offer a rebate for psychological services. Some health funds also require a medical referral. Contact your insurer for further information.

TAC

All the Psychologists at Aruna Psychology are registered to provide services through TAC. TAC will cover the costs directly leaving no out of pocket fee for the client.
